Some photos of the Palais Lascaris, a baroque-style residence located at 15 rue Droite in the old town of Nice. To discover as you stroll through the alleys of old Nice and with the help of a few pictures.

A restored palace transformed into a museum

palais lascaris 13 m

The palace was built in the middle of the 17th century on the initiative of the Lascaris-Vintimille family, one of the great families of the Nice nobility.
The ground floor houses the ticket office and the museum shop. Note a happy municipal initiative that allows free entry to residents of the Nice Côte d´Azur metropolis thanks to the "Nice Museums Pass".
Entrance is free for minors on presentation of a supporting document, the entrance fee costs 10 euros for the day and 20 for seven days allowing access to all the municipal museums in the city such as the Matisse museum in Cimiez, the Naïve art museum in Nice Ouest, the sublime Fine Arts museum (one of our favorites).

The first floor regularly hosts temporary exhibitions. The second floor allows visitors to visit several rooms furnished with tapestries, works of art, paintings and sculptures. A wing on the second floor houses a large collection of musical instruments from the Baroque period (16th to 18th century), mainly the result of a bequest by Antoine Gautier at the beginning of the 20th century.

A wide decorated staircase leads from one floor to the other. Baroque music concerts enliven the palace throughout the year to the delight of music lovers. Baroque art enthusiasts should not miss a visit to the Chapel of Mercy held by the Black penitents, at least in virtual tours and photos on our blog, while awaiting its physical reopening. We also advise you in the area to take advantage of a viewpoint from the top either from the Castle hill or also just next door from the Saint-François tower. And since we're down to a few recommendations, if you're a fan of Indian cuisine, Indian Lounge at 34 Right Street will delight you. Authentic and quality Nicoise cuisine, without frills, across the street, at Le Gésu, opposite the eponymous church.
